At Russell Branch Dental, we've built our practice around helping people in Leesburg, Ashburn, and Loudoun County when dental problems can't wait. Our team offers same-day emergency appointments and immediate care, with oral surgery, root canal, extraction, and pediatric expertise all under one roof.

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifies as a dental emergency in Leesburg, VA?

Dental emergencies include severe toothaches, knocked-out, broken, cracked, or chipped teeth, dental abscesses and tooth infections, facial swelling, lost fillings or crowns, a loose tooth after an injury, and broken dentures. In short, any urgent dental issue that is keeping you from your normal daily activities should be evaluated right away. If you have uncontrolled bleeding, severe facial swelling, or symptoms that seem life-threatening, go to the emergency room first, then call us for follow-up dental care.

Do you offer same-day emergency dental appointments?

Yes. We offer same-day emergency appointments when scheduling allows. Call (703) 771-2670 as soon as possible and our team will work to see you quickly for severe tooth pain, broken teeth, swelling, or a lost filling or crown.

Do I need an appointment for emergency dental care?

We do accept walk-ins, but we highly recommend calling ahead for dental emergencies so we can prepare for your visit and see you as soon as possible. Calling first also lets us give you guidance for managing pain or protecting a damaged tooth on your way in.

What should I do if I knocked out a tooth?

Handle the tooth by the crown (the top part), rinse it gently without scrubbing, and store it in milk, saliva, or warm salt water. Then get to our Leesburg emergency dentist as quickly as possible — fast action greatly increases the chance the tooth can be saved.

How much does an emergency dental visit cost?

We offer a $99 emergency appointment special that includes an exam and any necessary X-rays. Depending on what the exam and X-rays show, the additional cost of your customized treatment plan will be presented to you before treatment begins.

How can I manage my pain before my appointment?

Over-the-counter pain relievers appropriate for you, rinsing with warm salt water, and applying a cold compress can help ease discomfort until you are seen. Avoid chewing on the affected side. Severe swelling, fever, or difficulty breathing or swallowing requires immediate emergency medical attention.

Is it safe to delay treatment for a dental emergency?

Delaying treatment can lead to more severe problems, increased pain, spreading infection, and higher costs. Dental abscesses and infections in particular can worsen quickly, so it is best to address dental emergencies promptly.

What emergency dental procedures do you provide?

Our emergency dental services include tooth pain relief, root canal treatment, emergency tooth extractions and wisdom tooth extractions, cavity fillings, replacement of lost fillings and crowns, cracked and broken tooth repair, denture repairs and adjustments, and implants for replacing teeth that cannot be saved.

Do you treat children's dental emergencies?

Yes. Our multispecialty team includes pediatric and sedation dentistry, so we can care for children with knocked-out teeth, sports injuries, toothaches, and infections. We work to keep urgent visits calm and comfortable for young patients.

What if I don't have dental insurance?

We accept CareCredit and Sunbit financing, and we offer an in-house membership plan for patients without dental insurance. Approval and terms may vary. Call us and our team will walk you through options so cost does not delay urgent care.
